Just Touched Down in London Town

Hey-

I'm baaaacckkk!  After a few months of sorting work-visas, plane tickets and whatnot, I'm home and settled comfortably again. I'll tell you more about that later. Now it's time for some much needed inspiration!

Although we're in the middle of a heat wave, I thought it best to give you some Autumn love.  It's my favourite time of year. The warm and familiar colours of rust, crimson and chocolate remind me of starting Kindergarden. The nostalgic smells of apples, spices, pumpkin pie and cranberry warm my heart, signalling the pre-holiday excitement. I've already started stocking my liquor cabinet full of holiday cheer like brandy, spiced rum and Bailey's.

During the Holidays I always fill my kitchen with loads of baked goods, buy tins and send them home with friends as token gifts. I change around my decor a bit so it seems less fresh, which was perfect for the summer months, but now we all need something a bit more cozy. I achieve this by adding extra throw blankets and pillows in warm colours and lighting candles in those beloved autumn smells.

Part of the excitement of Autumn is Halloween as well. Remember that pumpkins last for ages, so they're a fantastic investment. Past Halloween, you can make pumpkin pies, and freeze them for Christmas. But the best part of Autumn, is the ability to wear clothes again. Layers, scarves, boots, shawls, hats and mitts get pulled out of storage and back in to our lives.

I've left you with a few pieces of Autumn inspiration below.

All my love,

The MOD
